In 1968, the name “Bormes” was officially extended to “Bormes-les-Mimosas”, in honour of the mimosa trees that flourish throughout the village.
From January to March, the hills turn bright yellow as the mimosas bloom, filling the air with their sweet scent.
Every year, on the last weekend of February, the village hosts the Corso Fleuri, a colourful flower parade through the medieval streets.

Until 1913, Le Lavandou was part of Bormes-les-Mimosas, serving as its fishing quarter.
